Required permissions to connect social network profiles in Welov

If you want to connect a data source to Welov, you need to know which roles you must have in each social network to be able to connect them.

Before connecting your social networks in the tool, you must verify the permissions you need in each one to do so. ⬇️

Facebook 🔵

What can I connect?

A Fan Page

Role needed

You have to be an administrator of that Facebook page.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • If you are an administrator and the Fan Page does not appear in the connection dropdown, log in to your personal Facebook page and check the business integrations. You may need to grant Welov additional permissions to access the statistics: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools

    • Once you've located Welov in the listing, you can try two things:

      1. Click "View and edit," then "Turn on all permissions," and finally "Save."

      2. Click Remove and confirm.

      Reconnect the Fan Page in Welov and grant access.

  • If you don't have admin rights, ask someone who does to add you. Go to the page and click Page Settings > Page Roles. Enter the email of the user you want to add, choose administrator, and click Add.

Instagram 📸

What can I connect?

An Instagram Business or Creator profile.

Role needed

You must be an administrator of the Facebook Fan Page linked to that Instagram Business account.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • It's probably a permissions or linking issue. Before connecting a profile in Welov, confirm the following:

    1. Is it a business or creator account? You can't install a personal account. Follow these steps to change it.

    2. It's linked to a Facebook page? To verify this, log in to your account and go to the fan page. Check that Instagram is linked. If it isn't, link it or create a new one and link it.

    3. Make sure you, or the person trying to connect the profile, are Facebook administrators. Check roles here. If you recently got access, wait at least 7 days to complete point 2.

    4. Make sure Welov has the right permissions to access Instagram profile data. Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools, click "View and edit," then "Enable all permissions."

    Once you have made the necessary changes, try to connect or reconnect your Instagram profile in Welov.

  • Connect Instagram Business through another user who has admin access or create a new user and complete the above checks to link from that profile.

  • Unlink the current Facebook page and link Instagram to a different Facebook page.

  • Facebook offers an alternative solution: convert the Instagram account to personal, then back to Business (and linking the accounts as discussed above). We strongly advise against this option, as it carries the risk of losing valuable statistical information during the transfer process.

  • If you've checked everything and still can't connect, it's likely a Facebook bug. It's been active for some time, preventing you from connecting to some Instagram Business accounts. Facebook still hasn't provided a solution. See this page for more information.

X (formerly Twitter 🐦)

What can I connect?

Any X account.

🚦You must establish a double connection (with Welov and with our data provider) to install X's own profiles.

Role needed

You need the username and password for that profile.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • Make sure the user name and password for the account are correct.

  • Verify that the Twitter account is connected to our data provider, Metricool, in the Installed Applications section. Connect to Metricool by pressing the red button. Follow the instructions on the screen.

  • ⚠️It is crucial that you are NOT logged in to any X account on the device you are using at the time of connection.

Youtube 🎬

What can I connect?

Any YouTube channel.

Role needed

You must have an admin role.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • Check if you're a channel administrator, click on your account image, go to Settings, and then click on Account > Add or remove administrators > Manage permissions. You will see the main owner and the rest of the team.

  • If you're not an administrator, ask an account owner to set you up as one. Click on the account image > Settings > Account > Add or remove administrators > Manage permissions > Re-enter the password and choose an option.

    • Add a new user: click on Invite new users > Enter the email of the user you want to add > Choose administrator role > Click on Invite.

    • Change a user's role: next to the name of the person in question, select their current role and then the new role you want to give them.

LinkedIn 💼

What can I connect?

A professional Linkedin page

Role needed

Super admin, analyst or be the creator of the page.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • Make sure you are not trying to connect a personal profile.

  • If you don't have an administrator role, ask an administrator to assign you a professional page role. To add an administrator, go to the super admin view, click Admin Tools, select Manage administrators, and then Add administrator. Enter the user's name, choose the role, and save.


TikTok 🎤

What can I connect?

Any Tiktok account

Role needed

You will need to have the login information (user name and password) for the account.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

Make sure the user name and password for the account are correct.

Facebook Ads 💸

What can I connect?

An Ads account as well as specific campaigns.

Role needed

You must be an administrator of the Ads account.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • If you are an administrator and cannot connect the account, make sure the it is associated with a fan page that you are the administrator of.

  • If you are not an administrator, you have to ask an account administrator to assign you an administrator role: go to the ad manager settings section > Under Ad account roles, select Add people > Enter the email of the user you want to add > Use the drop-down menu to choose their role > Confirm.

Google My Business📍

What can I connect?

Google My Business locations.

Role needed

To be able to connect this application in Welov, you must have an administrator role of the site or have access data of an administrator account.

I am experiencing difficulties. What can I do?

  • If you are an administrator or owner, verify that the Gmail account you are connected to is associated with this Google My Business location. It may be associated with a different Gmail account.

  • If you are not an administrator, ask an owner to assign you this role: Log in to Google My Business (if you have multiple locations, open the one you want to manage) > Click on Users > Invite new users > Enter the email of the user you want to add > Choose Administrator role > Invite. You can learn more at this link.

    • If you have received an invitation to become an administrator of a Google My Business location, accept it and then try connecting the application in Welov.

  • If you have successfully connected the app and do not see any data, it is important that you verify the account.
